He faces the world
Armed with a rose and a shield
His motherโs blessing
Ryan Stone
For C&J
Wow! What an image. Once a mother has blessed this journey it is easier to face it bravely. There is so, so much wrapped around these brief lines dripping from a perfect title.
Ryan, I do believe you may be one of the kindest people I’ve ever (not) met ๐!
Everytime I think your capability is maxed out… You out do yourself! This piece is my favorite I’m not going to lie; ) Ryan…. May I say, you are one of my favorite treasures found on WP. Thank you… ๐โค๏ธ
Try, to outdo yourself.. I’m sure you will do it! ๐ I want to repost it.. I just need to respond to a few commets. Thank you!
I’ve read printed it out and it’s up on my mirror…. I’ve read it a million times..
Can’t express my gratitude. With the struggles over the past month it’s been daunting. My post was written back in Sept. Thank you for having the compassion you have. I’m so grateful. โค๏ธ
Ryan, you must be exhausted because you’ve been running through my mind all day. ๐ Ryan, it gave me so many smiles all day. I was smiling during traffic.. I was smiling waiting at the pharmacy… I was smiling at the doctors office.. ๐ ๐ You’ve been hanging with me all day ๐
Ahh, the blessing of a mother is always a protection and a sweet fragrance. There are always those special sons that make motherhood magical. You are one of those ๐
Tender and strong at the same time.
Loved it!!
No sooner begun
Than ended, just room for truth.
Yours struck a deep chord.
Thanks.

It’s a beautiful feeling when someone feels the emotions I write. When someone is inspired to write about your words themselves… Well, that’s spectacular ๐ Nothing.. I mean nothing, can describe the feeling when it’s inspired because of your child.. โค๏ธ
Ryan is an amazing writer who moves me with his words. I know he will do the same for you.

[…] Something that touched me deeply this week was a post from Carisa of Sometimes Silver Linings Are Blue. She accidentally published a draft she only read through again. It was meant to be. She removed the post immediately but it was already out as an email notification. Of course all who got notified read it. It was deeply moving. All the heartfelt and compassionate emails she received made her publish that post now officially in an edited version. It is the confession of a mother who made the impossible possible to make a living for her and her child although dropped into the cold night. Whoever did not read that post The Whole Truth yet I ask you to do so. It is a story of unconditional love and of forgiving. I read many of the comments and it touched me to tears. Our community is amazing! Ryan of Carisa, I hope that you can forgive yourself now too. Because there is nothing to forgive in the end. Ryan of Days Of Stone posted a beautiful sign of loyalty for Carisa: Mother&Son 5-7-5. […]
Perfect! I’m so happy you could make it personal – that’s the biggest compliment ๐
Oops, I meant to put a comma. Although I’m sure you get lots of comments about your ‘cara’ I meant to write “Beautiful, vecino”. Vecino is Spanish for ‘neighbour’, if you hadn’t checked it out already.

So much said with so few words.
Sometime we don’t recognize the gifts our mothers give us until we are much older. But it is never too late to open them and recognize their value.
Armored up, but, still, with the values of, the more, femine, that would be, a, perfect, balance of the anima and animus all right.
